Firefox Campus Edition

Adica o versiune de Firefox cu extensii pentru “scoala”. Suna tampit stiu, da face bine la PR.

The featured add-on in the campus edition are Zotero, FoxyTunes and StumbleUpon. Zotero is a research tool which helps collect, manage and cite research sources, while FoxyTunes lets you control various media players from within Firefox.

Thunderbird se va rupe de Mozilla

Thunderbird se pare ca va iesi de sub umbrela Mozilla.

Asta nu cred ca e o decizie smart dar … asta e. Tot ce sper e ca sa iasa mai repede kdelibsu` pe Windows ca daca am Kontact [pentru prieteni Kmail] pe Linux si Win… issue solved. Pacat totusi ca Mozilla se canalizeaza mai mult pe browser si nu si pe clinetul de mail, pe care il folosesc de cand era o arhiva zip care avea un executabil si trei foldere.

Internet Explorer fara tab-uri

S`au umflat muschii pe Mozilla si da in judecata pe Microsoft pentru tab-urile din IE7. Ca asa e, cand detii patentul. Deci revolutionara inventie a m$ cu taburile din IE7, trebe scoasa.

According to the german tech-site heise.de, the Mozilla Foundation is suing Microsoft over the use of tabbed browsing in Internet Explorer 7. The Mozilla Foundation owns the patent 5,160,296 through one of their developers (Solomon Katz, a former Opera dev) and has begun suing Microsoft in Mountainview, California. The Foundation wants that MS immediately ceases to distribute IE 7 and pays 1.4 Billion dollars in damages. Heise reports that Microsoft has issued no official response, but is contemplating to ship IE 7 NT (no tabs).
