Cine mai foloseste Internet Explorer 6, o are mica respectiv, larga. Hai ca daca dumb userul care are Win-ul crackuit si nu e in stare sa isi puna un Browser, nu inteleg de ce in companii mari nu se face odata upgrade-ul. CRM-ul e dat cu suport IE6 only ?! E EOF ppf!!!

Windows 3.11

Mai exista persoane care fac contabilitatea cu soft-uri de DOS si au instalat Win 3.11. Nu`mi explic cum dar e foarte adevarat.
Si cand s`a ars magaoaia… de ce nu poti sa pui pe un Intel Quad Core ce era inainte ?

Da, a mai existat altceva in afara de XP si Vista.

Trojan.Mebroot

Symantec zice ca:

When the Trojan is executed, it creates the following mutex so that only one instance of it is running on the compromised computer at any time:
Global\7BC8413E-DEF5-4BF6-9530-9EAD7F45338B

It then reads the Master Boot Record (MBR) and then scans the partition table to find the active boot partition of the computer.

The Trojan infects the MBR, copying the original MBR to sector 62 on the hard disk.

It then installs its own kernel loader to sectors 60 and 61 of the hard disk.

Next, it copies a rootkit driver near the end of the active boot partition. The Trojan overwrites around 1149 sectors (467 KB) when copying the driver.

Next, the Trojan creates a .dll file in the current folder where it is executed and then runs the following command:
regsvr32 /s [TROJAN FILE NAME].dll

Open Source in 2008 – Portabilitate

Cel putin in prima parte a 2008 ma gandesc ca miscarea o sa insemne KDE 4.0.

KDE 4.0 RC2 pe care il am instalat acum este de cacat. Pff, soc si groaza. Da, pot spune ca e de cacat din punctul meu de vedere. Nu ma excita cu nimic widgeturile, iconurile noi si efectele. Ca sa nu aduc aminte de K Menu. Nimic parca nu mai e la locul lui si se misca al dracu de greu. Si atunci…

Linux din subteran

Cum stateam IO asa si asteptam metroul ascultand Altar si citind Catavencu, se termina bateria. Deci stop mp3. Ei bine cat ma scobeam dupa bateria de schimb, prinsai o discutie.
Doi pustani, anul I de facultate, genul ala de in liceu au avut veleitati de olimpici si n`au sarutat o fata pana acum. Si cum probabil inca nu li se uscase bine scuipatul de pe ghiozdan, scuipat generat de bagabon?ii liceului, discutau despre eternul subiect comun al geek`ului in devenire inginer al patriei: calculatoarele.

XP XP do not update

Un laptop la ras in cap. N`avea virusi, n`avea nimic. Numai ca mergea mai mult decat extrem de greu. Simplu, format, reinstall, totu merge. Dupa win update, mergea ca inainte. Reformat, reinstall… merge ok. Dupa Windows update, System idle process la 100%. Numai asa.

Acum luai frumos de pe torrenti un XP cu update`uri in el [de la eth0], si m`apuc sa`l instalez p`ala. Sa vedem.

AutoPatcher Good Bye

Today we received an e-mail from Microsoft, requesting the immediate take-down of the download page, which of course means that AutoPatcher is probably history. As much as we disagree, we can do very little, and although the download page is merely a collection of mirrors, we took the download page down.

We would like to thank you for your support. For the past 4 years, it has been a blast. Unfortunately, it seems like it’s the end of AutoPatcher as we know it.
